Movie Outline is a program that comes in help at this point because it focuses on the pre-writing part of the screenplay, helping you build a strong foundation for the dialogues and action that will follow. The program is rather based on steps than on scenes. Scenes are related to a certain location, while steps are defines by facts. Installation of Movie Outline is very simple, all you have to do is click on the installation executable and follow the on-screen instructions. The size of the installation kit and the program itself is small, so installing the program won't be a problem for users with low available disk space. No toolbars or adware is installed alongside with the program. The interface of the program is intuitive and provides easy navigation. For first-time users, a good and strong help system is provided by the application, for getting the most out of the program. There's also a Character Profile Wizard for bringing characters to life. One of the best ways to start a new story is by analyzing and comparing successful movies to see what makes them so popular. Movie Outlines incorporates a reference library featuring outlines and analysis of 12 movies. A great feature of the program is the FeelFactor which provides a system for graphically representing the distribution of shocks, tears, laughs and action throughout the screenplay. By using this feature, screenwriters can quickly see if they need to include additional action in their movies. Once the outline is complete, the user will find that the script formatting tools of Movie Outline are good, but not great. It lacks some useful features that screenwriters might need, like script commenting, collaboration capabilities and dual dialogues. Even though, Movie Outline is great for transforming ideas into scripts, it doesn't offer much help for rewriting scripts, a process that occurs very often during actual film production.
